Action Cures Fear

Action cures fear. Isolate your fear and then take constructive action. Inaction— doing nothing about a situation—strengthens fear and destroys confidence.

The Magic of Thinking Big

I am currently in the market to purchase my first home. If you have ever purchased a home you know how cumbersome the process can be. I’ve lived in apartments for quite some time so I decided to make the move. Am I afraid because of the economic fall out of coronavirus? Yes. Is it possible that I could possibly lose my job in the next coming months? Yes. Will I let that fear deter me from making my decision? No.

Let me share with you something my father shared with me about making a decision and taking action. I had spoken to him about the move I want to make but I also expressed to him my objection. He simply said, “Son, make the decision, take action for providence will move with you.” Yes my father is pretty amazing, and he only has a high school diploma, but he’s read so many books in his lifetime he built his own library in his garage, forget power tools, this man has a wall of books!

So is the fear real and legitimate? Of course! But there are ways to minimize that risk and if there is something I have worked to cultivate in my life is a positive mental attitude! So I reached out to a mortgage lender and I am now currently looking for a property! Fear dissipated, excitement over the roof! No pun intended 😉

But why am I sharing all of this? Well, the book I am currently reading is David Schwartz The Magic of Thinking Big and I cannot stress how important this book is. It is a manual to improve one’s life tenfold. It has many great lessons to share and it will most likely be a book I will reference in the future many times over, but I came across something fitting given my current situation.

Action cures fear. So simple to understand and how fitting it is for the world we are living in right now. There is so much fear and uncertainty, but it is my honest believe that we have the power to turn a bad situation in to a blessing, as long as there is life within us, we can always make the bad grow in to good.

So I leave you with this, what is something you want to do but fear is holding you from doing? What is something you are currently facing where fear has a hold of you? Now that you have pointed it out, what will you do to address it? Think of ways, and don’t give yourself a way out, don’t let the negativity win, really think and tell yourself if I could defeat this how would I do it? The answers are inside of you, you just have to look!
