This past Friday I had a close encounter with death.
I suffered a blow to the back of my head that landed me in urgent care.
My body turned numb and cold, convulsing, slowly losing consciousness.
I managed to make a phone call before losing consciousness to let my family know which urgent care I was being driven to.
Wanting to extract something positive from this experience, I kept asking myself, what is the good in this?
Lesson 1: I am alive. All that matters is that I am alive. This is an important thing to remember. I am alive.
Lesson 2: The universe is full of good people. Those that helped me survive this Friday incident, some friends, others strangers. There is goodness in the world.
Lesson 3: Slow down, focus and breathe. I am being forced to slow down and observe my life. With this new opportunity what do I want to do? How do I want to encounter this world?
